Daniel B. LeCocq

Funeral Home: - , (Map-it)

Visitation: Thursday, June 8 from 3pm to 8pm
Service Date: 06/09/2023

Daniel Brian LeCocq (Dan), born May 20, 1967, in Chicago Heights, was a life-long resident

of Crete, Illinois. He was the first of three boys born to Gary and Gloria (nee Dowell) LeCocq.

He graduated from Crete Monee High School in 1985 and received a bachelor’s degree in

Hotel Restaurant Management from Purdue Northwest. Employed by Applied Systems for

more than 25 years, Dan worked as a Manager of Data Services. Dan was united in marriage

to Christina (nee Carlsson) LeCocq on June 24th, 1995 and together they raised two beautiful

children.

Dan was a kind man that wasn’t afraid to share his faith and traditional values. He eagerly

volunteered for any cause he saw worthy. He was an active volunteer at his parish, most

recently serving as an usher and helping with the Outreach Giving Tree. Dan was also a

strong supporter of Mother Teresa Catholic Academy where he served on the School Board,

gave tours to perspective families, helped with fundraising events, and even played Santa for

the children in the lower grades. Committed to volunteering as his children entered high

school, he was an avid supporter of the Marian band program. He loved to share his pictures

of the band and was thrilled to be a “band dad” and help with the field crew.

Dan’s pride and joy was always his family. He worked hard to provide for his family and took

an active role in raising his children. If asked, he would proudly say, they were his greatest

accomplishment! He was involved with their education from early on, attending field trips,

volunteering at their schools, and cheering them on as they performed in the band, on the

softball field, or at robotics competitions. Dan was filled with a sense of pride anytime he had

the opportunity to share the latest about his family.

Dan enjoyed life and loved with his whole heart. He had an infectious smile and would talk to

anyone about anything. He loved being silly, even pulling a prank or two, and was careful not

to take life too seriously. Dan took a genuine interest into those he met and was eager to

welcome new people into his circle.

Dan is survived by his loving wife, Tina, two precious children, Brian and Hannah, his mother,

Gloria LeCocq, his brothers Bernard (Leslie) LeCocq, and Dustin (Lisa) LeCocq, five nieces

and nephews; Kyle, Carly, Matthew, Margaret and Jack, and many sisters/brother-in-laws,

aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his devoted father, Gary LeCocq.

Dan died surrounded by family on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 after a recent battle with many

medical issues. He fought the fight of his life with faith, determination, positivity, and the

strength of 1000 men. Visitation will be Thursday, June 8 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Kerr-

Parzygnot Funeral Home (540 Dixie Hwy., Chicago Heights, IL). The Funeral Mass will be

held Friday, June 9th, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Liborius Catholic Church – Steger, IL.

Interment:  Assumption Cemetery, Glenwood, Illinois.   Info:  (708) 754-0016
